Mentee Application Process

Starting in September 2016, colleges and universities seeking mentoring for the CAE application process need to submit a completed copy of the New Applicant Inventory to the CAE Program Office. To be considered for a mentor, be sure to select "Yes, I opt to receive support via the CAE Application Assistance Program" at the bottom of the first page.

Submit the completed inventory to the CAE Program Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If you have problems downloading the form from this page, it can also be downloaded from the homepage of the National IA Education & Training Programs (NIETP).

The New Applicant Inventory guides applicants through the CAE2Y program requirements and provides a self-assessment of readiness. Applicants who opt to receive support will have their inventories reviewed and will be referred to one of two assistance paths:

  • Institutions needing further development of programs and/or curriculum, or those with programs that have not reached maturity, will be referred to a CAE Regional Resource Center for assistance.
  • Institutions assessed to be within one year of meeting curriculum and programmatic criteria will be referred to the Application Assistance path for mentorship. The CAE Program Office requires the endorsement of the mentor to process applicants that have chosen this path.
